SOLVED RIDDLE.

Torre Mozza is a former coastal fortification built to guard the coast against Saracen pirate invasions and to control ships loaded with minerals from the Isola d'Elba.
Now it has been transformed into an expensive resort (closed in winter).

If you had seen this beach in the summer, it would hardly recognize.
But the sea, out of season, has always its charm.

great riddle !!
name of the structure begins like a well known italian cheese.

Found it as well. The tower is even visible in 3D on Google Earth, making things easier. It is from the 16th century and now contains an expensive hotel. Cheers, Martin

It could be on Skye or Lewis and Harris - that's not the only reason I like it ;-) !!

Cheers, Hans-Jörg

Dear Hans-Jörg, it was a bit of a trap. I was hoping someone would say it was in Scotland. But unfortunately there are on this website experts of Italy ;-)

Scotland does not have fences...

Perhaps it is better to specify that the cheese to which Christoph referred is the Mozzarella.
