This panorama comes 9 minutes after the one showing the last sun. Consider that at tropical latitudes the night falls very quickly.
Needles to say, the whole descent was done in total darkness, on a totally empty road, at least before the final battle with the countless little, yet aggressive dogs populating the surroundings of Huaraz (and sometimes even the center). In Los Olivos, the suburb on the way to Punta Callan, they seem to be more that in any other place...
Here a brief cross-reference to previous panos published by me about the mountains seen here.
353°: Pucaraju, also called Nevado Santa Cruz. You see it from the other side in N.29476 and related panos;
355°-07°: the various Huandoy summits, the two summits of the Huascaran. You see them at best in N.26027 and relates panos. From the continental side you see them from Yayno (N.26108) or from the Alto de Pucaraju (N.26409), not to be confused with the previous Pucaraju;
53°-95°: a close view of Ranrapalca, Churup and Shacsha can be found in n.26827;
58°-81°: the mountains from Chinchey to Huantsan are best seen from the Conchucos side in N.30406 and neighbouring panos;
109°: hidden behind the Pukarahu there is the Cahuish tunnel, which is the main paved crossing of the Cordillera between Ancash and Conchucos. I have not shown this section yet;
119°: Jatunllacsa, find it also from the opposite side, in N.29448;
123°-138°: Caullaraju and Mururaju, find them in N.28935, showing the southern stretch of the Cordillera as seen from Huayhuash. But with Caullaraju we are also already in the realm of Conococha (N.28835)
130°: Tucu, rather modest from here, becomes the bulkiest mountain in the Pastoruri skyline, N.29455
135°: Yerupajá, the main summit of Huayhuash.

As you see, this view marks a local minimum of appreciation within a row of 20-30 consecutive works, however, good that somebody appreciates "even" the Cordillera!
Cheers, Alberto.
