This is one of the remotest beaches on the island of Cres-Losinj, since at least two hours are needed to reach it by foot, crossing the Osorscica mountain. This time increases to 4:30 if one wants to reach the top of the mountain, as in my case. After an evening ascent to the chapel of Saint Nicholas (which followed a morning ascent by bicycle to the Televrine), I had slept there, descending to the beach the next morning. The conditions of the path witness clearly that very few people venture here.
When the archduke Rudolf von Habsburg asked to climb the Televrine, top of Osorscica, on March 28, 1887 (thus, less than two years before Mayerling), he should certainly have spotted down the crystal-clear waters of Tomozina, but his expedition (which in a certain sense marked the birth of mountaineering in these regions) was perhaps too heavy to venture down there...
After reaching the beach at the point marked "end of path" (do not try to challenge the vegetation of these islands outside the path, however dim!), I first swam round the cape to the point marked "end of swim". After swimming back, I realized that it was a pity to leave the place without photos and panoramas, whence I reached the cape by foot (which takes a certain amount of time). Then, in the late afternoon light I redid the whole swim with maximal pleasure. It easy to understand that, when I reached the bicycle parked on the opposite side of the island, it was already dark.
