Gran Sasso is the highest mountain massif in the Apennines and is well known, including on this website, by hikers, climbers, and skiers.
I'd like to offer a different take on Gran Sasso, as a film location.
Many films have been shot on Gran Sasso, which lends itself well to two genres: westerns and fantasy. The landscape in this panorama was used as the backdrop for the film "Continuavano a chiamarlo Trinità" (Vier Fäuste für ein Halleluja).
In the first 15 seconds of this trailer, Monte Camicia is clearly visible.

Take a look at this panorama. Wouldn't you set a western there?

And take a look at this one. Wouldn't you set a fantasy there? Or perhaps a horror fantasy.

The view is just a pretext to talk about a specific topic. What is it?

But I can't tonight; I'll do it tomorrow.
Del resto non scopro nulla, molti film sono stati girati lì.
