Die Thassos Serie ist noch nicht zu Ende, aber ich möchte etwas Abwechslung mit Bildern vom Anfang und Ende der Reise hereinbringen. Angereist war ich über den Flughafen Thessaloniki. Die sehr lebendige Stadt (zweitgrößte Griechenlands) birgt viele historische Schätze und eine jahrtausendealte ununterbrochene Geschichte. Sie wurde 315 v.Chr. von den Makedoniern gegründet und hat im Laufe der Jahrtausende nicht nur oft die Herrscher gewechselt wie andere Städte auch - hier wurde auch mehrfach die Bevölkerung ausgetauscht. mehr auf https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thessaloniki.
Die schachbrettartig angelegte Innenstadt grenzt mit einer über 1km langen Uferfront an den Thermaischen Golf, zwischen Cafes und Promenade liegt leider eine vielbefahrene Straße. Ruhiger sitzt es sich am alten Hafen - der neue Containerhafen ist etwas weiter westlich. Hier ein Blick spätnachmittags (18:16) nach einem wechselhaften Tag mit starken Schauern.

The Thassos series isn't over yet, but I'd like to add some variety with pictures from the beginning and end of the trip. I arrived via Thessaloniki Airport. This very vibrant city (the second largest in Greece) is home to many historical treasures and has an uninterrupted history dating back thousands of years. The grid-like city centre borders the Thermaic Gulf with a waterfront over 1 km long, but unfortunately there is a busy road between the cafés and the promenade. The old harbour is a quieter place to sit – the new container port is a little further west.
