Nach dem Eindruck vom Aufstieg ist natürlich das Gipfelpanorama fällig. Nach dem steilen Tal im Osten trifft man auf eine von Westen her sanftere und bewaldete Landschaft, durch die auch einige Fahrwege bis fast zum Gipfel ziehen. So waren dort auch einige Leute unterwegs, mit mir auf dem Gipfel drei fröhliche Rumänen. Der schon an den Vortagen starke Wind pfiff auch an diesem Tag ganz ordentlich, aber mit starken lokalen Unterschieden: Direkt am trigonometrischen Gipfelbetonpunkt, um den ich mich hier drehe, war es deutlich angenehmer als am großen Steinmann auf dem südlichen Nebengipfel. Die Aussicht geht über die ganze Insel, und in der Ferne dominieren Athos, Pangaion und Samothraki. Unschön ist natürlich die Betonplatte am Anfang - hier verhinderten, wie ich gelesen habe, die Inselbewohner Schlimmeres in Form eines großen Funkmasten. So große Bereiche möchte aber nicht per KI ersetzen, und auf die vollen 360° wollte ich auch nicht verzichten.

After the steep valley in the east, one encounters a gentler and wooded landscape from the west, through which several dirt roads lead almost to the summit. There were also a few people there, including three cheerful Romanians with me at the summit. The strong winds of the previous days were still blowing quite strongly on this day, but with significant local differences: directly at the trigonometric summit concrete point, around which I am turning here, it was much more pleasant. The view extends across the entire island, with Athos, Pangaion and Samothraki dominating in the distance. Of course, the concrete slab at the beginning is not very attractive – as I have read, the islanders prevented something even worse in the form of a large radio mast. However, I don't want to replace such large areas with AI, and I didn't want to forego the full 360° view either.
