SOLVED RIDDLE.
Gerfalco is a village in Tuscany, administratively a frazione of the comune of Montieri, in the area of Colline Metallifere.
It remains out of the usual tourist circuits and few know about it.

I can add that we are in central Italy at an altitude of about 800 meters. Tomorrow night I will give the solution.

Could be North of the Apuan Alps ridge (A) or eventually NE of the line Arezzo/Firenze (B). Searching for a SS/SRnnn which goes up 800m.

According to some, Gerfalco derives from the medieval German ger-Falke, falcon bearer. But I don't know if it's true.

It is amazing that so many Italian villages have a medieval history and remain mostly unchanged (from an outward perspective).
