Der Blick geht von der Villa Il Gioiello, dem Wohnsitz von Galileo Galilei, hinüber zum heutigen Observatorium von Arcetri (italienisch: Osservatorio Astrofisico di Arcetri), einem astrophysikalischen Observatorium in der hügeligen Gegend von Arcetri am Stadtrand von Florenz. Galileo verbrachte ab Dezember 1633 er hier seine letzten Jahre unter Hausarrest. Er starb 1642.

The view goes from Villa Il Gioiello, the residence of Galileo Galilei, over to the present-day Arcetri Observatory, an astrophysical observatory in the hilly area of Arcetri on the outskirts of Florence. Galileo spent his last years here under house arrest from December 1633. He died in 1642.
