SOLVED RIDDLE.

On 25 April 1787 Goethe visited the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento and highly praised the temple of Concordia (but also criticized the poor quality of the restoration carried out on the stone).
In those days the statue of fallen Icarus was not there ;-)
The statue of Icarus, donated by the Polish sculptor Igor Mitoraj, was placed there in 2011.

when I was there the very interesting statue was not yet there. At least I think so, because I think I overlooked it. I have to go to the archives ...

Not really a riddle ;-) A bit like posting the Eiffel tower or the Matterhorn...but a very nice place indeed. Been there twice. Cheers, Martin

Dear Martin, I'd like to ask you a provocative question ;-)
What do you think of the Louvre Pyramid?
