I have held back this pano waiting for Giuseppe's return, as the landscape and vegetation here in Northern Greece near to the Albanian border to me resemble the Pollino (400km away) very much - see #26172 and #25364. Surrounding the summit of Smolikas there is a zone of pinus heldreichii. Below on the pass the dragon lake of Smolikas can be seen. Everything else has been told with the neighbouring panos.

Am auffälligsten war für mich im ersten Moment die wunderbare Bildrahmung, erst dann kam der Blick in die Ferne bei herrlichem Licht und wunderschönen Farben. Eine Blau-Gelb-Kombination par excellence!

Pinus heldreichii is truly a magnificent tree. Unfortunately in Italy it is seen almost only on the Pollino.

Die Bildrahmung ist hier in der Tat sehr gelungen zumal auch die knorrigen Nadelhölzer ein Hingucker sind.
