Piazza del Popolo is not as intense and "heavy" as Piazza Navona, but still nice and typical.

Pano made from 16 HF (RAW), Canon 6D, 50mm, iso-100, 1/320 sec, f/9, developed in DPP (daylight, neutral, moderate sharpness, periphal illumination), stitched in PTGui pro, downscaling and sharpening in Irfanview.

Comments

If I remember right, I once read that this is the meeting place of the Fascists, while Piazza Navone is the place of the Left. So much for differences... Cheers, Martin

Hi Martin. Piazza del Popolo is not particularly linked to fascism. Piazza del Popolo today is sometimes used for concerts or for political demonstrations, but without right or left connotations. The square that more than others reminds of fascism in Rome is Piazza Venezia, where there is Palazzo Venezia with its famous balcony from which Mussolini made speeches.
Piazza del Popolo is very characteristic and certainly one of the most beautiful squares in Rome. Sometimes it is said that it is the most Parisian square in Rome, but it is not a definition that I like, in the sense that Rome and Paris are two completely different cities.
