To get the maximum from the bright night, one must seek out the northernmost location possible, and so I naturally aimed for Gilleleje, the northernmost city on Sjælland. I spent 2 fantastic nights here last year at midsummer, and I will therefore allow myself to present panos from each night. If the scenery is alike, the light and mood are still different, and as such valuable references for danish summernights.
I will start by excusing that 4 nearly identical panos will follow; the next ones will be from a nearby location, and be longer; I however wanted to present this particular one, as it fills a gap in time from the last ones shown, and the next cluster. The reason for this short pano is that I wanted an undisturbed view to Kullen AND perhaps getting Hallands Väderö as a bonus; to get that I had to accept that the pano would be short.
This pano may appear slightly brighter than the last ones, but this is due to the relative calm water which is excellent at reflecting light from the nightsky. I actually made the photos a bit too bright, and had to darken them...Midsummer at the sea or by a large lake is therefore highly recommended!
On this location and date, the sunset was at 22:01, and so it was 2h and 33m after sunset. The sun was at this time just 10 degrees under the horizon.
The pano was made from 3 pics (RAW), 70-200mm@70mm, Canon 6D, tripod, f/4, 4 sec, iso-800, developed in DPP (cloudy, neutral, periphal illumination, moderate sharpness), stitched in PTGui pro, downscaling and sharpening in Irfanview.
