SOLVED RIDDLE.
Portoferraio is the largest town on the island of Elba. It is very interesting, even from the historical point of view. For example, here Napoleon was exiled in 1814. The house where he lived is seen in the pano (Villa dei Mulini).

A very nicely captured view. At first the lights on the opposite side of the water made me search Italian lakes, but, of course, there is no city fortified so strongly on the lakes. But I have found another port, and I am very much surprised that this view is not yet present here on PP. Others active here have been there - I have unfortunately not. The fort to the left is St.... and the tower at the end of the harbour is Ma...... Cheers, Martin

A very good reasoning.

Gorgeous night panorama, Giuseppe ... and not the worst exile, I would say adhoc ;-) ...

As a personal opinion, in place of Napoleon, I would have enjoyed the island of Elba ;-)
Napoleon was not imprisoned on the island of Elba, but he was the governor.
I understand that if one was the master of Europe, the island of Elba is a little bit, but he would have avoided Waterloo and Saint Helena ;-)...
