Piazza San Marco (St Mark's Square) is the heart of Venice and one of the most famous squares in the world.
It is the only "piazza" (square) in Venice. Generally, all other urban spaces in the city are called "campi" (fields).
A remark usually attributed to Napoleon calls the Piazza San Marco "the drawing room of Europe".
The square has a trapezoidal shape and in the bottom there was some restoration work.

Ciao, Alvise
Ma probabilmente, senza Basilica, risalta meglio l' armonica disimmetria delle Procuratie.
