Vignola is a village of little more than 100 inhabitants, set in the curious position which you see here. The only occasion that you have to pass through Vignola is if you go to Vetriolo and to the Panarotta ski resort from the side of Pergine instead of reaching it through the main road going up from Levico. A club of keen cyclists from Pergine has scattered along the narrow road several signposts revealing that this ascent has been declared «twin of the Alpe d'Huez ascent»...
Well, the Panarotta has seen the arrival of a mountain stage also in the last (2014) Giro d'Italia; however, I think that the Alpe d'Huez continues to be slightly more known worldwide than, say, Vignola or Vetriolo. Moreover, allow me to guess that this will remain true also after the publication of the present panorama!!
