The last plan on my trip was to get to the summit of Chimborazo, the point farthest away from the center of the earth. Because of the shape of the earth Chimborazo is actually higher than any Himalayan or other peak on our planet, measured from the center. The indigenous people call him "taita", father. The mountain towers majestically over the surrounding fairly plane highlands. Unfortunately I got sick again in the Whymper refugio after dinner, so I decided to cancel the ascend. I found out later on, that the two other teams also didn`t get very far, but to that I will comment on the next picture...
