The castle of Rocca Calascio is a mountaintop fortress in Abruzzo.
At an elevation of 1460 metres, the castle was the highest fortress in the Apennines. It is believed that it was impossible to conquer, but the fortress was never tested in battle. However, it was badly damaged in1461 by an earthquake. Rocca Calascio was the location for several scenes in many movies. Tomorrow for the labels.
