Between Kirkjubæjarklaustur and Holt, in south central Iceland, one comes over a plain called Eldhraun (meaning "fiery stones"). It is a fascinating landscape, made of lava boulders covered in Reindeer moss. Most boulders are round, but here and there, there are gestalts like frozen fountains or spruces. All in all, it therefore looks like Harz/Arber/Feldberg in winter, with the classical Arber-mandl - except for the turqouise colour tone.

In the pano, Myrdalsjökull can be seen. Unfortunately, I didn't get any better views of it later on.
