Dem Verfall preisgegeben ist dieser "Lost Place" schon seit längerer Zeit obwohl durchaus Interesse sowie finanzielle Mittel zur Verfügung standen hier etwas Neues entstehen zu lassen. Betreten darf man den Bereich heute nicht mehr.
Im Netz gibt es zahlreiche Bilder aus den Gebäuden mit Hintergrundinformationen sowohl aus früherer Zeit als auch der Gegenwart. Die Bilder sind hinsichtlich Farbgebung und Licht stark nach persöhnlichem Geschmack abgestimmt. Ich lasse es noch eine Weile als Rätsel stehen. Ich bin mir fast sicher, dass mindestens 1 p-p Forist den Ort kennt und ihn vielleicht von meinem Standort aus auch schon fotografiert hat zumal in der unmittelbaren Umgebung reges Treiben herrscht. Blickwinkel ca. 150°, Hauptblickrichtung NO - 6 Bilder, X-T2 Abandoned to decay. Today you may get incriminated for trespassing into this area, but it is hard to overcome the temptation for discovering this interesting lost place. However there were times were it was still possible hence the numerous pictures of inside and outside the complex on the internet. I leave the panorama as a riddle for some time and strongly believe that minimum 1 active user on p-p (beside those I already showed) might know the location especially because there are lively activities in the near surroundings. Angle of view approx. 150°, Main orientation towards NE, for color and illumination the pictures are processed to taste

Am Eingang steht ein Spray mit dem Text "La vera malattia è il lavoro". Das ist zwar nicht gerade nach George Carlin enthält aber 2 wichtige Hinweise ;-)
But I've never been there, either as a visitor or as a patient ;-)

Hence another hint.... Alvise B. might know this complex. Tourists may have walked by (like I did).
It is the former "Ospedale al Mare" on the "Lido di Venezia".
Unfortunately it will be transformed into a luxurious Club Med resort.

I read about various future ideas and about a lot of money invested and/or spent yet. It would be a pity if it ends up in just a luxury resort knowing that the nearby public! beach could get affected.

A few steps away from the Ospedale al Mare spreads the long and wonderful Lido beach.
About the Ospedale al Mare - as about the Lido, moreover - I know many anecdotes that testify to the peculiarity of living in the Venetian lagoon. "Particularity" not to say "inconveniences". Until not many decades ago, many islands in the lagoon were home to clinics and hospitals for the treatment of infectious or mental diseases or requiring special health treatments. The Ospedale al Mare was the reference point for the health protection of the entire stretch of coast between Lido and Pellestrina. Just think about what it means, nowadays, to have to give birth and be literarly "isolated" in Pellestrina, or San Piero in Volta - or to need an emergency health intervention. Ambulances are equipped motorboats but transport times are long and sometimes extreme. The Ospedale al Mare gave answer to many needs; but obviously like all Venetian things it was left in agony in a very long death, until today's disaster. As for its transformation into a luxury resort ... I do not express myself but I imagine that my thought as a Venetian is known and unequivocal. Venice and the Lido do not need this, but a high-level health district serving the resident citizens.

You may wonder how I discovered it as being a Non-Venetian and just an annoying tourist ;-D.
During our stay on Lido we often came here by public bus and walked to the beach along Via Marco Polo. It was an interesting vacation anyway as we went by train/bus and by foot - to keep the CO footprint small(er) :-) - I know others may have a different view.
