After one month abroad, a beautiful and enjoyable moment is also the one when we see our country again - especially if this happens in a frame like the one shown here.
14 vertical images, 38 mm (x 1.5), 1/200 sec, f/10.

Great work - welcome home :-D ... and I believe you were caught in another one's picture. Greetings HJ

... and I bet the other one is from Japan. BTW, the flag mast on tower has a little kink.

Probably I was not useless in that picture, at least to hide some bus - surely not the one shown here, maybe some previous one!
Actually, the one that you see caused me a discrete masking work... it appeared three times inside the picture: a perfect synchronization with my shooting rate! But I could not care about vehicles / no vehicles issues, since I had very few minutes to rush to the train.
Greetings,
Alberto.

great city, great work!

This is truly curious, and proves that it is always useful to show the images to other eyes...
Actually, the mast is not completely upright, as one can obviously expect - recall that nowadays Trieste is Italy, no longer Austria! This detail can be clearly seen in www.panoramio.com/photo/97169657 ; in the scaling it has produced the effect that you noted. Hence, we have at least one and a half Irfan bugs in this picture - but I guess that all the other bugs are exclusive copyright of the photographer! The light, on the other hand, is not copyrighted - no need for Pierre Bideau here.

... wow, what a wonderful city and view! Tanti saluti Hans-Jörg

In my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful squares in Italy.

Dear Alberto!
How peaceful this place can if depicted by a modest person!
Kind regards
Christoph

I guess that your definition «peaceful» is somewhat related with the seemingly horrible waste of «pixelwidth» (indeed a precious resource on PPH) that I made here, both in the upper and especially in the truly empty lower third. But my aim was just to communicate a personal impression, not least because five minutes are perhaps too few to realize a memorable report about the buildings of Trieste, if ever one more is needed!

Waiting for the Giro...

I'm not sure, but this place seems to be the most photographed place in Italy - at least on this page. The asymmetric cut is something different - I like it.
08.10.2013 19:20 , Werner Schelberger
Wonderful clear. Also, the bending of the buildings is acceptable.
08.10.2013 23:32 , Jörg Braukmann
I did not even consider a symmetric cut among the viable alternatives. Not only because of symmetry in itself, but also thinking: If you don't exploit that window on the sea, this becomes a square like infinitely many others in Italy.
Only when the panorama was "already ready" I realized that it had several predecessors, and that it was not in agreement with them...
But I simply welcomed this circumstance like another form of asymmetry!
