Aufnahmestandort: Durbar Square (1330 m)      Fotografiert von: Pedrotti Alberto
Gebiet: Nepal      Datum: 04-05-2019
This is one of the three Durbar Squares of the Kathmandu valley, namely: Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Patan.
Last week an Italian tourist was imprisoned in Bhaktapur because he was found lifting a piece of carved/painted wood. He is as a teacher of art, and thus claimed that he only wanted to examine that wood more closely, but the local police claimed him to be a thief...
Far from being excited by this story, I simply remembered to have a sleeping 360 from that place.
Bhaktapur is the most interesting city of Nepal, a sort of local Florence, no less crowded than Kathmandu. Patan is a suburb of the capital, and you are likely to find less tourists there. Near Patan's square there are other several amenable places to visit, among which the Temple of the Living Goddess of Lalitpur.
In a quiet morning, I had the unusual luck to surprise the Living Goddess, all adorned in her golden jewels, while she was playing right before the door of her temple, but the encounter come so unexpected that I was not quick enough to grab the camera. Or, at least, she was quicker than me at disappearing inside, as soon as she saw me approaching.
Maybe this saved me from being arrested because of taking a picture of the Goddess...

I wouldn't want to imagine a goddess in panorama format, but maybe that is not what you meant. Otherwise, once again a truly interesting and informative view. Cheers, Martin

Interesting. I was there 1993. It seems to be more developed now. LG Niels
