SOLVED RIDDLE.
The Abbey of Sant'Agata Martire was built on the remains of Roman ruins and was a place of worship and the seat of the Cistercian Order.
The Abbey was a beautiful example of a fortified building with agricultural and monastic purposes. Over the centuries, it became a center of attraction, exerting social and cultural influence on the local population.
But, in August 1567, several Ottoman galleys docked at the mouth of the Fortore River. The Ottoman troops reached the monastery of Sant'Agata, sacking it and then burning it.
The Abbey was rebuilt, but never regained its former fame. It gradually lost its role as a center of agricultural production, and the decline in population meant that religious worship was no longer supported.

No, since
there are no wind-kraftwerke at San Ga

Thanks for the comments.
S.. Ga. isn't in ruins, just missing its roof, but it's a very well-kept place.
This place is completely neglected and few people know about it.

Ein kleiner Hinweis
Benedictini montes Cistercienses valles. Also handelt es sich um eine ehemalige Benediktinerabtei

With the beautiful poppy field in the foreground, this is also an appealing riddle, Giuseppe - maybe the foreground is sharpened a bit too aggressively (in my opinion) ...

Cheers, Hans-Jörg

Very nice with all the poppies. I agree with Hans-Jörg. Will be much better with less sharpness.

Thank you for your suggestions, which I'll try to implement.
I'd like to explain something that may seem strange to you. For post-production, I use a 15-year-old program installed on an equally old computer.
Of course, I have a new computer and a new, excellent post-production program. The problem is that I don't know how to use it and I don't want to spend my time learning.
So either I don't upload photos for a long time, or you'll have to settle.
When I stop traveling, I'll learn, but I hope it happens as late as possible ;-)
Coming to the riddle, we're not in Tuscany, where such carelessness would be almost impossible.

Is it already resolved?

Found something (according to given hints) like
San G... E.......a ?
2026/06/21 11:13 , Hans-Jürgen Bayer
No, it's not solved, and perhaps no one will solve it.
Your answer doesn't seem right to me.

A XIII.secolo monastery ruins in Puglia was my proposal from #34939
S...A.... ?

Okay. Bravo.
I'll try to reduce the sharpness, but I don't know if I can.

One time I need to go to Puglia !
