Nicht daß dieser Tag mit Acinipo, Setenil de las Bodegas, Olvera und dem geierumwobten Gipfel des Lagarin nicht schon erfüllt und abwechslungsreich gewesen wäre - aber das Tageslicht sollte noch für den zweiten Teil des Doppelgipfels über dem Stausee von Zahara reichen, also spurtete ich noch hinüber. Dieser Gipfel hat einen ganz anderen Charakter als der Lagarin: Oben ist ein großes, flaches, zerklüftetes Karstplateau, das nach Westen und Süden in steilen Felswänden abfällt. Daher und wegen des tageszeitbedingt schwierigen Gegenlichts auch kein 360er. Oben war noch ein spanisch-britisches Paar, das mich auf in der Felswand unterhalb brütende Geier aufmerksam machte. Der Abstieg ging dann schneller als erwartet und ich konnte doch noch im Hellen zurückfahren. Abends warteten dann noch die am spanischen Feiertagswochenende lebendig volle Altstadt von Ronda und ein sehr gutes Abendessen.

Not that this day with Acinipo, Setenil de las Bodegas, Olvera and the vulture-covered summit of Lagarin hadn't already been fulfilling and varied enough – but there was still enough daylight left for the second part of the double summit above the Zahara reservoir, so I sprinted over there. This summit has a completely different character to Lagarin: at the top is a large, flat, rugged karst plateau that drops away to the west and south in steep rock faces. For this reason, and because of the difficult backlighting at this time of day, there is no 360° view here. At the top, there was a Spanish-British couple who pointed out the vultures nesting on the rock face below. In the evening, the old town of Ronda, bustling with life on the Spanish public holiday weekend, and a very good dinner awaited me.
