Cypress trees often characterize the Tuscan landscape. Sometimes they are avenues, other times rows (one sides).
Some of these rows are well known and much photographed. The best known are probably those of Val d'Orcia, but they are found in many hilly areas of Tuscany.
This row of cypress trees is not known (as far as I know), I found it by chance while driving along the roads south of Siena.

I also puzzled by the green appearance of the hills. Taken earlier this year?
For the rest you are right, some cypresses are very young and they were planted specifically to make the row.
