From Volterra Corsica seems very close. I think few people imagined this.

Comments

As a visitor of the Ligurian coast, the mountain silhouettes seem very familiar to me, but finding the exact location will probably be another Sisyphean task - nevertheless, I took the liberty of adding a label so that you would believe me ;-) ... and by the way, an amazingly beautiful sunset panorama!!

A warm greeting between work and dinner,
Hans-Jörg

Dear Hans-Jörg, this time I'm not in Liguria, nor can we see Liguria. When the place becomes known, many will be amazed ;-)

I added one Label (2390 m). I think it's seen from Tuscany. Gret view!

Spectacular lightshow

Thanks for the comments. Well done Peter.

It's from Volterra! I added one more lable. I had to look for places on the Tuscany mainland from where Capraia is hiding the correct parts of Corsica's finger. Cheers, Peter

Super, Peter ... and

@Giuseppe
Wow ... and excuse my stupidity, dear Giuseppe - I was too focused on the Maritime Alps around Monte Mongioie without doing any research. Perhaps the mistake can be excused by the fact, that my last visit of Corsica was in 1984, just at the time when Italy became Football World Champion ;-))

War das nicht 1982?
2024/02/02 10:34 , Peter Brandt

Eure Fußballleidenschaft in allen Ehren.

Dieter

For many Italians, 1982 was unforgettable ;-)
Above all I regret my youth.
Peter's reasoning is very correct. To find Volterra it was necessary to understand the position of the island of Capraia with respect to Corsica.
