Area: Italy      Date: 20 August 2023
Monte Carchio allows a remarkable view of the sea of Northern Tuscany and of the mountains of La Spezia

Comments

On the 10th of August I was able to make a panorama of the Apuan Alps from a low altitude location and could see Monte Carchio. From my angle Monte Carchio is mostly superimposed by Monte Sagro (if I'm not wrong).

Right.
Monte Carchio is a havoc of nature. The top is entirely occupied by a marble quarry, which has lowered the height of the mountain. Then some antennas were added...
But it is one of the best places in the Apuan Alps to photograph the sea, it also has a very varied and interesting flora and the surroundings are very pleasant.
Seeing a disused marble quarry can also be interesting.

With this view you immediately awaken my memories of the panorama further north on the Strado Provinciale 59 in Campocecina (#27995) from the year 2017 ... simply a fascinating region and magnificent panorama again, Giuseppe !!

Tanti saluti e un buon fine settimana,
Hans-Jörg
