Fucino is a vast Apennine basin of Marsica, in the province of L'Aquila, in Abruzzo, located at an altitude between 650 and 680 meters and surrounded by mountains.
It contained the lake of the same name, third in Italy by extension, until it was completely dried up in the second half of the 19th century.
