The Castle of Montecuccolo rises to 873 meters dominating the entire valley, in the heart of the Modena Apennines in Emilia-Romagna.
It was the birthplace of the 17th century condottiero Raimondo Montecuccoli. Montecuccoli is buried in Vienna's church am Hof, in the so-called Montecuccoli crypt

Ein Motiv, wo der Himmel gerne ein wenig mehr Dramatik haben dürfte.
Zu des Rätsels Lösung fehlt mir die Ortskenntnis.

I could have searched a couple of more days probably without result. I was looking further South around the Montepulciano area.
The story of Raimondo Montecuccoli as a military leader in the Habsburg monarchy is very interesting.
"Listed as one of Austria's most famous warlords and generals worthy of eternal emulation".

Ma l'oratorio di Pratolino sta fuori dal margine sinistro del panorama?
Confrontando con una mia foto, non riesco a capire.
NB: mi ricordo bene quell'oratorio sotto il castello di Montecuccolo per via della "monografia" che vi era pubblicizzata: "Pratolino: miracoli all'oratorio, delitti all'osteria"

@Hans-Jürgen: Raimondo Montecuccoli in Italy is not well known, probably because he almost always fought for the Habsburgs outside Italy. But his story, as you said, is very interesting.
@Alberto: sono stato lì solo di passaggio e sinceramente non conosco l'oratorio di Pratolino, che comunque nel panorama non si vede.
