The ruins of the Zborów Castle (Hrad Zborov), also known as Makovica, are located near the town of Bardejov in the north of eastern Slovakia.
The castle was built at the beginning of the 14th century to defend the Hungarian-Polish road. During the uprising of the states it was attacked by the imperial army and in 1684 it was demolished. Only the walls remain of the vast town, rebuilt in the Renaissance style.
Access: on foot from Zborov, along the yellow trail, approx. 30 minutes, a steep hill or the red trail, along the oak avenue, approx. 45 minutes.
