Via dei Fori Imperiali connects Piazza Venezia with the Colosseum. It takes its current name from the monumental remains of the forums of Cesare, Augusto, Nerva, della Pace and Traiano which can be admired by walking along it. The pano was taken from the Vittoriano (or Altare della Patria).

So you made a trip through Italy :-)
A wonderful scene. I like the way you developed the pictures.

Splendid. A "classical view" in a very narrow sense of the word ;-) Cheers, Martin

Hi Martin. The first time I showed my son the Via dei Fori Imperiali (he was 6 years old), he told me they were just a pile of stones. I tried to explain to him that the western world was ruled from that pile of stones for many centuries, but he didn't seem convinced ;-)

Impressive and instructive.

One is striked with awe in later ages, but as a youngster I also tended to think of it as merely ruins. BR Jan.
