SOLVED RIDDLE.
The Sibillini Mountains (Monti Sibillini) are one of the major and most beautiful mountain groups of Apennines. The highest altitude is reached by Monte Vettore at 2.476 m.
We are on the border between Marche and Umbria, but also very close to Abruzzo.
Very beautiful and characteristic is also the lake of Pilato, which can be seen only in a small part. The lake takes its name from a legend in which Pontius Pilate was killed there and buried under lake bed as punishment for his role at passion of the Christ time.

I remember such landscapes from Abruzzo, but in searching I have not found such a high valley with a lake there yet. Cheers, Martin

You are right. The mountains resemble those of Abruzzo.
But it is not in Abruzzo.

Ponzio ringrazia, che hai preferito lui all'imbuto sull'altro versante...

Martin: please check 42.187 13.348 (although formally it lies slightly outside Abruzzo)

Interesting. This is near enough to Abruzzo to qualify as the same landscape. And totally embarassing that I didn't find it when searching the area. But definitively my taste of an attractive summit. Cheers, Martin

Excellent! It almost feels the Pano aged in your lab for a few years like a good wine.
