Location: Torre del Lago      by: Giuseppe Marzulli
Area: Italy      Date: 8 October 2020
Torre del Lago (Tower of the Lake) is a town in the province of Lucca, Tuscany, on the Lake of Massaciuccoli.
Its name originates from the presence of a tower that in the fifteenth-sixteenth century stood on the lake (what you see, however, is a reconstruction that does not have much to do with the original tower).
To the original name of Torre del Lago was added that of Puccini, to honor the composer who lived here and composed many of his famous operas.

Very nice. On the right, the walls look like to be a small boat harbor.

Yes, there is a small boat harbor. Navigation on the lake is possible, but rarely used. Generally those who go there are because they are passionate about opera.

I love to be educated about Italy through your always new views. Cheers, Martin
