SOLVED RIDDLE.

The circus of Mourèze, located in the department of Hérault, is a dolomitic circus where erosion has shaped a ruiniform landscape, with extraordinary shapes.

Spectacular place, but I wasn't successful in locating it in my first sweep of Google - having a preference somewhere in the middle of Italy. Either it is my lack of knowledge or the place is actually not as famous as it deserves - the latter would indicate one of the touristically more neglected areas. Cheers, Martin

Hi Martin and thank you for your participation. This time if you look for it in Central Italy you can not find it.

Of course, it could also be outside of Italy.

Thank you for the additional hint. I found it. First I looked to the east since I tought it could be (maybe) in Dalmatia. Then I looked to the west of Italy, thought in between "maybe" Corse and ended up in M. / in the middle of the Circe de M. The church is Saint M.

I have been there in 2009. It was the first year I made panoramas. But I wonder why I did not make anyone there. I was there in the afternoon, so the sun was on the opposite side. May be this is the reason.
Well done with nice light and clouds.

@Christoph: obviously you have guessed.
@Jörg: I was almost sure you knew the place.

Die Steinformationen im rechten Bildteil erinnern an das Elbsandsteingebirge.
