Auf den sauren Böden in den Hochlagen des Bayerischen Walds kann das Orangerote Habichtskraut (Hieracium aurantiacum) herrliche rote Teppiche ausbilden, wenn eine Wiese aus der Intensivnutzung herausgenommen wird. Rechts im Vordergrund schieben sich noch die hohen Stängel der Verschiedenblättrigen Kratzdistel (Cirsium heterophyllum) ins Bild.

Of course I had this flower in my semi wild garden....now only a memory...
But this is a lovely plant compared to the yellow hawkweed

Mentor, I like H. aurantiacum, too, still, I don't see why i shouldn't like the many yellow species of hawkweed in the same way, e.g H. pilosella or H. umbellatum.

Wilfried, because the yellow hawkweed is a very agressive plant in the garden.
