... Ponti di Vara - a historical place, and much more expressive in b&w ...
The "classic" view to the Ponti di Vara and the marble quarries of Fantiscritti above Carrara in the Apuan Alps, an immense marble reservoir. Ponti di Vara is a stone arched bridge, and originally a railway bridge for transporting the mined marble. Today, the five-arched bridge is only used as a road.

Just turn on colors, and change title and location to Jura, Vogesen or Elbsandstein, and it will be rewarded by an avalanche of ratings!
Cheers, Alberto.

Your comment is much appreciated, dear Alberto - subjective ratings, tactics etc. are not the most important things in life. The only important thing was, my experience to visit this exciting unknown region with marble and lardo di Colonnata, but without Alpirsbacher ;-)) - cheers, Hans-Jörg.
But above all, I would like to talk about Colonnata's lard. I would eat quintals, but I can not do that ;-)
My opinion, however, is that with the "lardo di Colonnata" you can not drink neither Alpirsbacher nor Peroni, but only a glass of good red wine ;-)
I would suggest a "Colli di Luni Rosso", which is produced close enough.
