I do not make much effort to photograph the Alps from far away. This pano was taken less than a kilometer from my home.
The main feature of this pano is that allows you to see in the distance the Cathedral and the main skyscrapers of Milan. The Alps are in the background.
The center of Milan is 45 Km from the shoot (the hills of Bergamo).
The farthest mountain photographed is the Corborant (3007 m), which is distant 263,2 Km.
it is possible to have a similar visibility, on average, only ten days a year.

5 photos; 300 mm (full format); f5; 1/2 sec.; 160 ISO; with tripod.

Io ero qui che stavo considerando se pubblicare un Alpenpanorama di circostanza prima di spegnere tutto...
Adesso che ho visto ogni singola cimetta dell'Argentera fotografata da Bergamo credo di poter andare dormire accantonando il lavoro di circostanza!

Eh, ma l' Argentera ci riescono tutti (o quasi). Il difficile è fotografare la Madonnina del Duomo di Milano da Bergamo....

What a gorgeous view. Even the mountains alone in sunset must be amazing, even more if a sea of lights lies just beneath them.

Must have been an excellent view, so that you can see not only the lights from Milan to sparkle so much, but also the distant Alps.
Since the most remote mountain is 263 km should it included in the foresight list in my panorama #18926 be.

@Heinz: If I understand correctly, the record is 295 Km.
With a little luck, I or Alberto we might be able to photograph the Monviso for more than 300 Km. Sooner or later I'll try.
