This place, which is one of my absolute favourites, is located on the E4 path between Sougia and Agia Roumeli. The 360° view includes the mighty Tripiti gorge, which meets the sea right at the feet of this scenic hill. This time my proposal was precisely the ascent of Volakias (highest summit of the Lefka Ori west of Samaria) through that gorge. Since I rate the description of the hike in itself as too specific for an audience mainly interested in photography, for the interested minority (if any) I provide a link to a hopefully thorough description of the subject: www.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/view.do?id=10724499

Good that you appreciate. When publishing favourite places, one always suspects to have a biased opinion.
Cheers, Alberto.

Great location and great hike in a pano with great colours. I'm a bit unhappy withe the "Schnitt" as it divides the pano in two halves with the description related to what we see after scrolling - unfortunately I have no better idea. Cheers, Martin

Typical blinding mood of the chalkcliffs of the Mediterranian. LG Jan.

Martin: as you may expect, the Schnitt has bothered me more than every other aspect. In a preliminary version I had placed all the bulky mountain mass at the beginning, keeping for afterwards the relief of the little chapel and of the blue sea which is, after all, what one expects in a place like southern Crete. Namely, few Wanderers, if any, "sell" the sea for the Tripiti gorge. The beginning, however, came out a bit shocking, and what you see was the only other chance tearing up neither the sea nor the gorge.
That I was not able to figure out alternative solutions is witnessed also by the fact that I chose the same cut also for the twilight version www.panoramio.com/photo/123324145
Cheers, Alberto.
