Denmark in march (in mild winters) is a symphony in brown, which is effectively conveyed here, I think. This pano, and the next to follow, are taken from two mighty burrows, Hashøj and Galgebakke, close to each other, south of Slagelse. They offer an excellent view, apart from a tv-tower close by, over Storebælt and Southwestern Sjælland. As a little sidekick, the highest natural hill of Sjælland can be seen from here, albeit a bit obscured by the nearby church of Slots Bjergby. However, the Great Belt-link steels the show. The overall view to the south and west is best viewed from Hashøj, the southern burrow, and the view to the north and east is best viewed from Galgebakke, the northern burrow. The farthest view is 60 km, to the southern part of Sjælland, but that is also obscured, by nearby trees.

Forgive me for presenting this outdated material, but the last year has been very busy for me, but in a good way, so don't worry...

Pano made from 27 pics (RAW), 50 mm, iso-200, f/9, 1/320 sec, developed in DPP (daylight, moderate sharpness, auto optimizing off), stitched in PTgui pro, shadows brightened up in GIMP (curves), cropped, down-scaled, and sharpened in Irfanview.

Reload
I thank for the interest so far. I have however made a reload, since I think the gegenlicht was a bit on the edge. I think this is a little better. Let me know if it is not. LG Jan.

Prima, daß Du wieder was zeigst. Der Gegenlichtbereich ist sehr gut gelungen. Am besten gefallen mir die schräg einfallenden Sonnenstrahlen.
LG Fried

Sad mood - good view. I think Gegenlicht is better and okay now.

Testplatz-bonanza
Dear Heinz. Thank you very much for your energy. Heinz' testplatz:

I have uploaded the initial "unplugged" version on my own testplatz:

You are right about the mighty shadow around me, and as JB notes, it gave a kind of melancholic feeling to the afternoon. That is why I wouldn't bright it up too much. LG Jan.

This is the proof: Not only the scenery of the Eifel sometimes looks gloomy and melancholy during winter times ;-). Welcome back as an active participator.
Kind regards, Matthias.

After viewing all three versions I want to say: I like this one best. It´s not easy to find the most fitting mood every time, when we take in account the amount of possibilities we have to improve the pictures.
Mange Hilsen Wolfgang
