Auf sieben Hügeln wurde Rom erbaut - da sollte es doch den einen oder anderen Aussichtspunkt geben, von dem aus man einen atemberaubenden Blick auf die Stadt werfen kann.
Tatsächlich aber gibt es nur einige wenige - zu ihnen zählt zweifellos der Blick von der Engelsburg. Von der obersten Plattform bietet sich einem nicht nur ein schöner Blick über die historische Altstadt und auf den Tiber, sondern vor allem ein freier, unverbauter Blick auf den Petersdom.

P.S. Der Blick ist wirklich einzigartig - die Plattform gnadenlos überlaufen. Die letzten 500 Pixel mit Sicht auf den Petersdom waren äußerst hart umkämpft.

Viel schöner kann man Rom nicht darstellen. Da muss ich meine kulturlose Bande auch noch hinschleifen...nicht immer nur auf Berggipfel, da gehen sie alle gern mit. VG Martin

Dear Werner, there was a secret connection, called "Passetto di Borgo" (which is still there, even if it is no longer secret), that united Vatican City with Castel Sant 'Angelo (Engelsburg). It was used by many popes to escape and save themselves.

No, it is not the fault of Dan Brown, but it's my fault ;-).
I showed "Passetto di Borgo" in pano 15629, (even if no one has noticed....). In any case I hate Dan Brown ;-).

I looked at your pano again now. Indeed I (too) didn't recognize the impact of "Passetto di Borgo" until now.

I have nothing against Dan Brown. But, in my opinion, Dan Brown mixes together real things, things that are false and true things in half. And this does not seem right to me.
