Location: Norcia      by: Giuseppe Marzulli
Area: Italy      Date: August 2013
Norcia, traditionally known in English by its Latin name of Nursia, is a town in southeastern Umbria.

The area is known in Italy for the wild boar, and for sausages and ham made from wild boar and pork. Such products have been named after Norcia; in Italian, they are also called "norcineria".

Norcia was the birth-place of a great religious personage: St.Benedict who was the first monk of Christian faith and the founder of the Benedictine order.

Comments

Some of my best reminders of my trips to Italy are connected with Norcia and its lovely surroundings. Could an italian piazza be more inviting than to be seen in your photo?
