Mergellina was once a small fishing village. Today it is an important secondary tourist harbor for hydrofoil traffic to the islands in the bay of Naples.

It has lost some of its charm past, but it is still a characteristic place of Naples. In the picture I tried to capture the contrast between the past and the present.

Ciao Hans-Jürgen. I was in Naples only one day. The sea of the Cilento and Amalfi coast (near Naples) is very nice, but in Naples city, the sea is very polluted. No one takes a bath in those waters. Only a few old fisherman.
