Although Apuan Alps belong geographically to the Apennines, are called Alps because they are morphologically very similar to the Alps.
Foce della Faggiola (1455 m) is a passage that is located on the trail to climb Monte Sagro.
Monte Sagro is high 1753 meters, but is only 12 Km from the sea and it is one of the most scenic mountains of the Apuan Alps.
