This overview was originally going to have a different title: "The Seven Hills of Rome."
The number—and identity—of hills in ancient Rome is a seemingly simple topic, but in reality, it is far more complex than one might imagine. Then I thought it would only interest a few people, so I decided to change the title.
It will take me a couple of days to add all the labels.

Rome is always a miracle. But great to also see Frascati and the Colli Albani in so much detail. And, when I discussed Sirente with Alberto last week, he also asked me about Velino, which I had to admit is still on my list. Moving up on the list with pictures like this Cheers, Martin

Hi Martin. In February, the chances of excellent visibility are higher (though not guaranteed). I took advantage of the clear view to show the mountains in detail; the panorama can be best appreciated by someone who—like you—has already been to the Janiculum.
But tell me the truth: would you ever have expected to see Monte Velino from Rome?

@Giuseppe - yes, of course, after I used Uli Deuschles page to label my neighbouring pano. Also, the motorway from Rome to the Abruzzi is really short, one is below Velino in about an hour. Cheers, Martin
