Nach dem Aufstiegsbild ist natürlich die Gipfelrundsicht fällig. Dies ist der höchste Gipfel des Orjen Gebirges ganz im Nordwesten Montenegros, und die bosnische Grenze ist nicht weit. Der frühsommerliche Dunst nagte schon an der Fernsicht, aber die prägnante Karstlandschaft in der Umgebung ließ noch genug zum Schauen übrig. Auf dem Abstieg wählte ich einen anderen Weg durch den wunderbar dichten Wald, und der Nachmittag ließ noch genügend Zeit für ein Bierchen zwischen Altstadt und Meer in Herceg Novi - dieser Urlaubstag war schon mal gelungen.

After the picture from the ascent, the view from the summit is due. This is the highest peak in the Orjen Mountains in the far north-west of Montenegro, and the Bosnian border isn’t far away. The early-summer haze was already obscuring the distant view, but the striking karst landscape in the surrounding area still offered plenty to see. On the descent, I chose a different route through the wonderfully dense forest, and the afternoon left enough time for a nice beer between the old town and the sea in Herceg Novi – this vacation day had certainly been a good one.

PS: Uli Deuschle verspricht hier über 270km Fernsicht nach Südalbanien und über 230km in den Gargano - ich muss ihn mal fragen, zu welcher Jahreszeit man die hier bekommt.
