Pietrabbondante is a small town in Molise, situated at an altitude of 1027 meters, almost unknown even in Italy.
Nearby, however, is an important Samnite archaeological site. The Samnites were an ancient Italic people who inhabited Abruzzo, Molise, and Campania before Roman rule.

Don't think it is in an area I'd been (so far). Somewhere in or near regione L'Abruzzo ?
