On January 28, 2025, the merchant ship "Guang Rong", over 100 meters long, collided with the pier of Marina di Massa due to strong winds and rough seas, causing the partial collapse of the structure and the ship's sinking.
The final part of the pier, a roundabout, collapsed into the sea.

Hi Jochen. The sailors all survived.

Fortunately not a “2nd Schettino” - well documented ... by the way, we were in this region at almost the same time this year. After our trip towards Tuscany “Hündi” was cooling off a little in the Mediterranean Sea in Carrara Marina, on June 3rd ... but at this time you were already standing on Forte Richelieu ;-) !!

Cheers, Hans-Jörg

But I go to Tuscany almost every month ;-)

Dieter

It's true. It's surprising that the ship is still there.
But there are many legal problems. In Italy, dilapidated ships like this are called "carrette del mare".
And in any case, it's not easy to move it without risking environmental damage.
We're talking about a ship over 100 meters long and loaded.

Something is tilted here!
But it's not your job to fix it. But probably you can decrease the slight halos around the shadows.
