Als eine der größten Ausgrabungen einer antiken Stadt um das Apollo-Heiligtum wollte ich Delos auf der Kykladen-Rundreise unbedingt einmal besuchen. Man fährt auf die heute ansonsten unbewohnte Insel dort mit kleinen Ausflussschiffen vom alten Hafen in Mykonos. Ich hatte sogar, daß diese wegen des starken Winds vielleicht nicht verkehren würden, aber man fuhr und das Boot war am Ende sogar voll. In der Vorsaison gab es nur eine Fahrt, die etwa zweieinhalb Stunden für die Besichtigung erlaubte - für das riesige Areal ist das knapp. Zumindest einen Eindruck will ich zeigen. Auf den Hügel Kynthos bin ich natürlich auch rauf, die Panos von dort sind aber vermutlich wegen des nicht besonders guten Lichts eher etwas für die persönliche Erinnerung. As one of the largest excavations of an ancient city around the sanctuary of Apollo, I really wanted to visit Delos on the Cyclades round trip. One gets to the island, which is otherwise uninhabited today, with small boats from the old harbour in Mykonos. I was worried that they might not sail because of the strong wind, but they did and the boat was even full in the end. In the low season there was only one trip, which allowed about two and a half hours for sightseeing - for the huge area that is tight. I want to show at least one impression. Of course I also climbed the hill of Kynthos, but the panos from there are probably more for personal memories because of the not very good light.
