Ein neuer Tag auf Amorgos. Nach zwei Nächten im familiären kleinen Hafenort Egiali wollte ich weiterziehen nach Katapola, dem Haupthafen im Südwesten der Insel. Mein relativ leichtes Gepäck erlaubte mir, dorthin zu Fuß zu gehen, und damit wandernd weiter den langen Rücken der schmalen Insel zu erkunden. Als Wanderweg "1" gut mit allen bereits diskutierten Mitteln markiert, verläuft der Weg entlang der "Palia Strata", der "alten Strasse" als traditioneller Verbindung die Insel entlang. Die neuere Asphaltstrassse liegt hier weit unterhalb. Die Kapelle von Agios Mamas bot Gelegenheit für Aussicht und kurze Rast.

A new day on Amorgos. After two nights in the intimate little harbour village of Egiali, I wanted to move on to Katapola, the main harbour in the southwest of the island. My light luggage allowed me to go there on foot, thus continuing to explore the long ridge of the narrow island. As hiking trail "1" well marked with all the means already discussed, the trail runs along the "Palia Strata", the "old road" as the traditional connection along the island. The newer asphalt road lies far below here. The chapel of Agios Mamas offered an opportunity for a view and a short rest.
