Easy munro, but little time for us.

We started the walk from Spittal of Glenshee. Because we use public transport, the days on wich you can travel to Spittal of Glenshee are pretty limited.
There was a public bus service from Blairgowrie to Spittal of Glenshee, 2 times a week (Saturdays and Wednesdays only), and on these days only a few buses drove to and from Spittal of Glenshee.

This Saturday the weather promised to be reasonable enough to do some more serious walking in the area. Partly sunny, some light drizzle now and then, not too much wind but pretty cold.

We took the earliest bus and left Spittal of Glenshee at 9.30 am. We walked the road to the beautiful Dalmunzie Hotel and from there followed the dismantled old railway trackbed to the ruins of Glen Lochsie lodge.

From Glen Lochsie a jeep track climbs uphill. Nothing too difficult, but there's still 550 meters climbing to do. The track leads almost all the way to the top.

We arrived at the summit of Glas Tulaichean (1051m) at 1:05 pm. We had a short break and took pictures and had our summit picture taken by a munro bagger who had just ascended Glas Tulaichean from the north ridge.

We left the summit at 1:15 pm and followed the same route back. We descended at a very fast pace (for our standards) because we wanted to catch the bus of 4:00 pm. After that, the next bus wasn't about to leave untill 8:00 pm.

We managed to be back at Spittal of Glenshee in time (at 3:50 pm) and caught our bus. Whoohoo!

I used Hugin for stitching 10 landscape oriented photos.
