After a riddle that's not a riddle, a riddle which is a riddle ;-).
SOLVED RIDDLE.

Najac is a picturesque village set along a ridge above a bend in the Aveyron River, in southern France. The village is known for historic buildings and apparent medieval character and is dominated by its partly ruined castle, built in 1253.

Yes, we are in Najac, in the Aveyron département, in southern France.
Unfortunately I can not say anything about the flag on top of the castle.
It was a very rainy day.
